PageHub vs Webflow: an honest comparison

Webflow gives designers more control, scheduled CMS publishing, and localization. PageHub lets your own AI agent build and publish the site, costs less per site, and puts even a free site on your own domain.

If you're looking for a Webflow alternative, or a Webflow alternative for agencies, here's PageHub vs Webflow on AI builds, pricing, clients, and code.

TL;DR

  • Pick Webflow if you design by hand and need rich interactions, scheduled CMS publishing, localization, or enterprise controls.
  • Pick PageHub if you want your AI agent to build and publish sites, or you run many small client sites and want a lower price per site.
  • PageHub's free plan runs on your own domain. Webflow's free Starter plan is limited to a webflow.io address.
  • PageHub has no localization and no A/B testing. Webflow has both.

What each one is

Webflow is a visual web platform for designers, marketing teams, and agencies. You style pages with classes, build interactions, and manage content in its CMS. It also sells e-commerce plans, localization, analytics, and A/B testing, and it has its own AI site builder and an MCP server.

PageHub is a website builder your AI agent drives over MCP, from creating the site to publishing it on your domain. Every site opens in a visual editor, so you or your client can keep editing without AI.

Where Webflow is better

If one of these is the core of your project, Webflow probably wins.

Interactions and animation

Webflow builds GSAP-based animations triggered by click, hover, page load, scroll, or mouse move, and styles with reusable classes. PageHub has preset animations, not a timeline tool.

Scheduled CMS publishing

Webflow Premium can publish CMS items one at a time and schedule them to go live later. PageHub has no scheduled publishing.

Localization

Webflow Localize serves your site in more than one language. PageHub has no localization at all.

Deeper e-commerce

Dedicated Ecommerce plans hold up to 15,000 ecommerce items, with a custom cart and checkout and unbranded emails. PageHub's Stripe checkout covers simpler shops.

A/B testing, analytics, and enterprise controls

Webflow sells Optimize for A/B tests and Analyze for traffic data, and its Team and Enterprise plans add page branching, publishing workflows, and activity logs. PageHub has none of these at that depth.

Where PageHub is better

Your own domain on the free plan

PageHub's free plan puts 1 site on your own domain with SSL and no PageHub branding. Webflow's Starter plan is limited to a webflow.io address.

A full CMS at a lower price per site

PageHub Pro is $7 a month per site, or $5 billed yearly, with 40 collections of up to 20,000 rows and 300 pages. Webflow's CMS starts on Premium at $25 a month billed yearly, for 20,000 items in 40 collections.

Your agent can start from nothing

Over PageHub's hosted MCP server, your agent can create a site, attach your domain, and publish it in one session.

Code export on every plan

Download the site as static HTML or a React, Next.js, Vue, or Nuxt project, even on the free plan. Webflow's export needs a paid Workspace plan and leaves out CMS content.

No PageHub fee on sales

Stripe checkout works on every plan. PageHub doesn't add a transaction fee on Stripe sales (Stripe's own fees still apply). Webflow's Standard Ecommerce plan adds 2%.

Seats are part of the plan

Business includes 3 editors per site and Agency 10, with no per-seat charge. On Pro, clients can leave review comments but can't be invited as editors.

What it costs: two examples

AI and agents in Webflow today

Both work with AI agents. This is from Webflow's own docs.

AI site builder

Webflow's AI site builder creates multi-page sites, up to 5 pages, inside the site creation flow, then you refine them in the Designer.

Source: webflow.com

Hosted MCP server

Agents connect to Webflow's MCP server and can build layouts, edit styles and components, manage CMS collections and items, create pages, and read Analyze data.

Some tasks need the Designer open

Visual snapshots and reading or changing the current selection, page, branch, or breakpoint need the Designer open with the Bridge App connected. Everything else works without it.

Documented limits

Webflow's MCP can't edit Classic interactions, create new localized CMS items, or change users and roles. Each sign-in reaches one workspace.

AI and agents in PageHub

Connect once

Add https://pagehub.dev/api/mcp to Claude, Cursor, VS Code, or any MCP client and sign in through your browser. It works on every plan, including free.

Build and check

The agent creates the site, sets the theme, and adds pages. Then it screenshots them at phone width and runs SEO and accessibility audits.

You decide when it goes live

Every change lands in a draft. When you say go, the agent attaches your domain, gives you the DNS records to add, and publishes.

Want the full walkthrough? See the website builder for Claude guide, or the MCP server docs for every tool.

Which one to pick

Choose Webflow if

  • You or your designers build by hand and want fine control over interactions and styling
  • You need to schedule CMS items to go live later
  • Your site needs to be in more than one language
  • You run a large shop or need A/B testing, SSO, or enterprise support

Choose PageHub if

  • You want your AI agent to create, publish, and connect the domain for a whole site
  • You want a free site on your own domain with no branding
  • You run many small client sites and want a low price per site with no seat fees
  • Your clients need to edit their site without AI or code
  • You want to be able to export the code on any plan

Switching from Webflow

PageHub has no Webflow importer. Here's what moving over involves.

Rebuild with your agent

There's no Webflow importer. Give your agent the copy and structure of your current pages, or point it at the live site if it can browse, and ask it to rebuild them on PageHub.

Keep your old links working

Add 301 redirects from old paths to new ones, by hand or through your agent (set_redirects).

Move the domain last

Review the new site as a draft first. Then attach the domain, add the DNS records PageHub gives you at your registrar, and publish.

Bring your content as CSV

If you can get your CMS content out as a CSV file, import it into a PageHub collection from the dashboard or with import_collection_csv.
