About this block
An event-style hero with your headline on the left and a large cover photo on the right. Under the headline, two short feature columns each pair an icon and a fact with its own button, so one column can sell the date and the other the line-up. It works well for conferences, launches, workshops, and anything with a date and a reason to come.
When to use it
- At the top of an event, conference, or webinar page.
- When you have two calls to action that each need a line of context, like Register and View agenda.
- When you have one strong photo that sets the mood better than a paragraph would.
- On a launch page where the date and the headline speaker are the two things people look for.
What's inside
- An h1 headline that steps up in size from phone to desktop, plus a subheadline.
- Two feature columns, side by side from tablet width up. Each has an icon in a tinted tile, a short h3, a sentence, and a button.
- A filled primary button in the first column and an outline button in the second.
- A rounded cover image, 600px tall beside the text on desktop and placed below the text on phones and tablets.
- A light surface background from your theme, at least 70% of the screen tall.
How to customize it
- Rewrite the headline and subheadline around your event's name and the one reason to attend.
- Change each column's icon, title, and sentence. The date and the speaker count work well, but so do price and location.
- Point the Register and View agenda buttons at your ticket page and schedule page, and rename them to match.
- Swap the cover image for your own photo and update its alt text to describe what's in it.
Questions
- Can I use only one button?
- Yes. Delete the button from either column. The columns still line up because each one holds its own text.
- Why does the photo move below the text on phones?
- A side-by-side layout would squeeze the headline into a narrow column. Below 1024px wide, the image drops under the text so the headline stays readable.
- What size should the cover image be?
- Use a portrait or square photo at least 1,000px wide. It's cropped to fill the frame, so keep the main subject near the center.
