About this block
A split hero where the type does the talking. An oversized three-line headline fills the left side and a large framed photo fills the right, with soft glows behind both. It suits portfolios, studios and creative brands that want the first screen to feel designed, not templated.
When to use it
- A portfolio, studio or agency homepage where the name or idea should be impossible to miss.
- Your message fits in 2 or 3 short words.
- You have one strong photo or piece of work to show next to it.
What's inside
- A section in your secondary colour with 2 blurred glow shapes in your accent and primary colours.
- Left: a spaced-out uppercase eyebrow, a short accent rule, and an h1 headline set very large in heading type, one word per line.
- A short paragraph under the headline and an 'Explore the work' link with a down arrow.
- Right: a large rounded photo with a border and shadow. It has alt text, so screen readers describe it.
- On phones everything stacks with the photo last, and the headline steps up in size at each breakpoint.
How to customize it
- Keep the headline to 3 short words, one per line. Long words get cramped at this size.
- Give the section below an anchor (like #work) and point the 'Explore the work' link at it.
- Replace the photo with your own work and update its alt text to describe what's in it.
- Change the section background in the colour settings. The glows pick up your accent and primary colours automatically.
Questions
- Will the huge headline fit on phones?
- Yes. It starts smaller on phones and grows at each screen size, reaching its largest from extra-wide desktops up. Short words fit best.
- Can I swap the photo for a video?
- Yes. Delete the Image and add a Video in the same spot. Give it the same rounded corners and shadow so the frame matches.
- Does the 'Explore the work' link scroll?
- Point it at an anchor like #work and it scrolls smoothly to that section. Give the section the matching ID in its settings.
