About this block
A single customer quote set large in the center of the page, with a quote mark above it and the person's photo, name, and role below. One strong quote placed near a call to action often does more than a grid of short ones.
When to use it
- Right before a pricing table or signup button, to settle doubts.
- Between two feature sections on a landing page, to break up the selling with proof.
- On a case study page, to pull out the client's strongest line.
What's inside
- A quote mark icon in your primary colour.
- The quote itself, marked up as a blockquote, at a larger size on desktop.
- A round 56px headshot.
- The person's name and role. On phones they stack under the photo. From 640px wide they sit in one row with a thin divider between name and role.
- Everything is centered in a column up to about 48rem wide.
How to customize it
- Use a real quote with a specific result: "Two sprints down to one afternoon" beats "Great product."
- Replace the headshot with a photo of the person who said it, and update the alt text with their name.
- Add the company name to the role line so readers can check it's real.
- Change the quote mark colour or size in the Icon settings to fit your theme.
Questions
- How long should a testimonial quote be?
- One to three sentences. Cut the warm-up and keep the line that names a result or a feeling. Long quotes get skipped.
- Do I need permission to use a customer's photo and name?
- Yes. Ask in writing before you publish someone's name, photo, or words, and keep that approval on file.
- Can I show more than one testimonial?
- This block is built for one quote. For several, use a testimonial grid or carousel, or repeat this block with a different quote further down the page.
