About this block
A single customer review in a centered card: five stars on top, the quote in the middle, and the person's name and role underneath. One strong review, given room, often does more than a wall of short ones. It's a compact section, so it fits between a features section and a call to action.
When to use it
- You have one standout review that sums up why people choose you.
- You want proof right before a pricing table, signup form or contact section.
- Your reviews come from Google, Yelp or a review site that uses star ratings.
- A landing page needs a short break between two longer sections.
What's inside
- A full-width section on your page background with a card centered in a narrow column.
- A rounded card on the light surface colour, with a thin border and a soft shadow.
- A row of five filled star icons in your theme's warning colour, labelled "Rated 5 out of 5" for screen readers.
- The quote as a paragraph, a short divider line, then the reviewer's name and role in smaller text.
- The card keeps the same layout on phones, with the quote wrapping onto more lines.
How to customize it
- Paste in a real review, word for word. Trim it for length, but don't rewrite what the customer said.
- Put the reviewer's company, town or job in the role line so the quote feels like it came from a real person.
- For a 4-star review, change the last star icon to an outline star and update the screen reader label on the star row to match.
- Duplicate the section and swap the content to show more than one review, or move the card onto a darker background for contrast.
Questions
- Can I pull reviews in from Google automatically?
- This section holds a review you paste in yourself. Copy the text from your Google or Yelp listing, and keep the wording the customer used.
- Will the stars show up in Google search results?
- Not on their own. Google shows review stars only for review structured data, and it doesn't show them for reviews a business publishes about itself on its own site.
- Do I need the customer's permission to use their review?
- It's good practice to ask, especially if you use their full name or photo. Many businesses ask for permission in the same message where they ask for the review.
